By William Campbell on April 16, 2018 | News

17 Canadian shooters made the trip to Tucson, Arizona for the 2018 US Open. American’s Cory Kruse (192/200) and Anthony Matarese Jr. (191/200) stayed dominant, but Ontario top-gun Peter Chiefari of runs close at 9th overall in the 768-entrant field with a 185/200 in the Main Event as Top-Canadian.  Great shooting Peter!

Top Alberta shooter, Carl Brewster, along with a strong showing from Mr. Tom Stenger.

Story of the weekend had to be Fort St. John, BC’s Ben Stewart recording 30-total punches for the, an outright dominant performance to whisk himself right out of B-Class against some of the toughest competition the sport has to bring…and does it as a Sub-Junior.  Ben started his weekend with a win in the Prelim, FITASC, 5-Stand, Super Sporting, 20ga, and 28ga events, plus a RU in 12ga, then went out with a top-20 performance in the 200-Target Main Event.  Top shelf Ben, we’re proud of you.

Looking forward to watching some of these shooters continue their work at the Vancouver Gun Club’s West Coast 400 this coming weekend.

See you on the course!
